Xbox Kinect is out and players throughout the UK cannot wait to get a hold on the new gaming system by Microsoft. Insiders say that Kinect is about to revolutionise the game playing industry. This is validated by the number of people queuing in rows outside of stores set to sell the product in first release.
The whole concept of Xbox Kinect is to make devices invisible. Games are played similar to Wii Plus and PlayStation Move, but there is no wand or remote device. The control system can be mounted beneath your television and it uses cameras, a microphone, and motion sensors rather than a wand or remote.
Technology no longer gets in the way, but makes room for players who want to sit, stand, or jump around, as the game reacts to their movement. Kinect is a hands-free operation. Because of this, game playing is more natural and intuitively enjoyable. Parents will have as much fun with Kinect as kids. It is a more ordinary type of game playing for older generations and it is amazingly easy to use.
Microsoft is releasing Xbox Kinect just in time for the Christmas season. It comes with a Dance Central game, and several other titles will be available that are suitable for children and families.
After a mediocre year for game manufacturers, Xbox Kinect is set to brighten revenues for Microsoft. The nearest competitive offering will not be until March 2011, when Nintendo releases a 3D edition of its handheld DS console.
