The Apple iPad has been declared The Gadget of the Year by readers and judges alike in 2010 Stuff Gadget Awards. The awards are given in recognition of the best consumer gadgetry of the year as determined by readers and judges.
The iPad had to take down Sky3D and Amazon’s Kindle in order to win. Experts are quick to point out that the iPad is far from perfect, with many of them calling it functionally limited. It gets better, however, with applications and accessories and the fact that everybody wants one makes it the gadget of the year more than anything else.
Other noteworthy winners were the iPhone 4, which was declared Phone of the Year. The Honda CR-Z electric car was the Eco Gadget for this year and Microsoft’s Xbox Kinect was the Innovation of the Year for interactive game play without having to hold a wand or remote.
