Are you embarrassed by your smelly shoes? The SteriShoe is your remedy, sterilising odour-causing bacteria with UV light. It has the appearance of a shoe tree which is placed in the shoe. When it is turned on it zaps the odours.
The manufacturer says the SteriShoe will eradicate 99.9% of odour-causing bacteria in a mere 3/4 of an hour. It is effective on the shoes of sufferers of toenail fungus, athlete’s foot, or just straight forward foot odours.
The unit is made in America, but is available for purchase in the UK, weighing in at 80 lbs. It comes in many sizes.
A spokesperson for Shoe Care Innovations, reported to the Daily Mail, “Clinical tests have shown the SteriShoe eradicates micro-organisms by means of ultra violet light. Doctors suggest the use of SteriShoe to kill organisms that create foot odours in the shoe and to reduce the risk of athlete’s foot.”
“You place the instrument into your shoe exactly as you would a shoe tree. Then you start the 45-minute procedure by pressing the button. Once it is finished, nearly 100% of the odour-causing bacteria are dead,” Kuehling explained.
Many features are included that protect the users from being exposed to UV light. You can even sterilise your open-toed shoes by use of the two shoe bags included with the SteriShoe.
