Sony is offering large discounts on new Sony kits for consumers that trade in old versions of their gadgets in exchange for the new versions. According to the company, customers will receive anywhere from £5 to £500 off anything at an authorized Sony retailer depending on the item you trade in from now until the World Cup comes to an end.
Even better, you do not have to own a Sony kit to trade it in and the item you are trading does not have to work, although you may get a better discount that way. The discount size is based on how much the product you trade in was worth when you purchased it, and the amount you save is based on the retail price. In addition to getting a bargain on your purchase since you are buying the item in the shop you get to take home your new shiny gadget instantly.
The offer began officially on April 29th and will continue thru July 11th for those that are more tech savvy than football savvy. Trade-ins will be accepted at Comet, John Lewis, Curry’s, Sony Centres, Tesco Extra, and other Sony approved retailers.
The retailers are responsible for disposing of each gadget they receive, which depending on their condition, may mean recycled or resold if it’s in reasonable shape.
A few examples of potential savings is £15-25 off a Walkman, £30-50 off Blu-ray and DVD players, £15-30 off Cybershot cameras, and £30-50 off of home cinema electronics.
