First came the Motorola Droid, then the HTC Droid incredible, and now is the next follow-up, the Motorola Droid 2.

The Droid 2 will be coming soon and already has started the rumour mill on the internet working hard.  According to early reports, the Motorola Droid Xtreme as it is also known will have a 4.3” display, a 750MHz Texas Instruments OMAP3630 processor, hardware buttons, and an 8.0MP digital camera.

Outside of these factors, it also boost a HDMI out, a display resolution at 480×854, and overall measurements of 2.5’ x 5’ x .39’ which add up to a total weight of 5.47 ounces.

The Droid Xtreme is said to run off the Motoblur Android 2.1 operating system which is somewhat disappointing given the other Droid smartphones are not going to have the Android 2.2 operating system either allowing for users to wonder just when the 2.2 operating system will hit the market.

However, hopefully HTC and Motorola will not keep delaying the Android 2.2 and will start to produce Motoblur and Sense smartphones that come pre-equipped with Android 2.2.  Time will only tell.
