Games – Gadgets – DVD – Plasma – HD – WIFI

A new study by Purple Gossip has found that for most people their mobile phone is the most important gadget they own ahead of iPods and laptops.

The new survey discovered that 62% of Britons list their mobile phone as the most important item in their life with another 60% stating that they cannot even think about life without their mobile at their side.

In fact, 68% responded that they feel alone and awkward when they accidentally leave their mobile at home which is pretty high compared to the 16% of those polled that stated they could get along without a mobile without a problem.

Also reported in the survey is the fact that the amount of people using handsets has doubled in the last seven year period and now around 40% of Britons use their mobiles for more than three hours every day.  Part of the reason that people cite they use their mobiles so frequently is due to Internet, touch-screen, and email capabilities.

The most popular use for mobile phones is texting followed by standard phone calls and the usage of social network apps such as Twitter and Facebook which 38% report they use on a regular basis.
