With the digital media, lots of our old vinyl records are found only in some corner of the basement. It’s sad that these records that were once considered hi-tech do not even find enough places in our homes today.

Well, you do not really have to be so upset. For here is a device that allows you to play the music from your old vinyl records digitally! The device is a turntable that is equipped with a USB connector and is called the “Ion USB Turntable”. All you have to do to listen to your old vinyl records is connect the turntable with your PC by plugging it into the USB port of your PC. Once the device is connected to your PC you need to use the software that comes with the device to play the vinyl record in either WAV or MP3 format.

The sound produced through the turntable device is of a good quality. You could also use the device to playback music on your iPod or any other gadget. For doing so, all you have to do is to use the software that comes with the device. Besides, the software also helps to improve the quality of sound that comes from your vinyl record by doing away with the unnecessary pops and clicks that are a common feature of almost all of the old vinyl records. Thus, you could not only transfer the vinyl recordings to your computer but also improve the quality of the recordings.

The turntable is of quite a good quality and connects to the Windows Vista, 2000, and XP operating system; and the Mac Operating System X on your PC through a USB. The device looks quite sleek and has been styled well. It also comes equipped with a dust cover that is made of smoked plastic.

The best part about the device is that it is very easy to use and it can almost instantly and directly rip the vinyl recordings in to the WAV and the MP3 formats. Besides, it efficiently moves the vinyl recordings to your iPod and also allows users to burn CDs.

The audacity software that the device comes with records at a high speed and then converts the recorded files to the normal speed at which they are played in the original recording. The audacity software also allows you to export the MP3 and WAV files.

The playback speeds that are supported by the software and the device are 45 and 33.33 RPM. The device also allows users to record 78 RPM records with the help of the audacity software. The pre-amp built in connections and the RCA line output connections allow the user to directly connect the device to the existing audio system that they might be using.

Besides, the device comes with all the cables and hardware that might be necessary for the user to connect with a computer or to connect to a playback system like a stereo system. The Ion USB Turntable would cost you approximately $100.
