Thousands of Apple fans are mobbing its stores like fans of the latest boy band, all across the world as Apple has started to launch its iPad internationally.
Outside of an Australian shop a 200m line had already formed as fans anticipated the new product, this was replicated on a huge scale in Tokyo, Japan. As the global roll out continues the device will also soon be on sale in Canada, the UK, and other parts of Europe.
After it launched in the US it only took 28 days for one million iPad models to be sold. In fact, due to the large demand in the US after its April release, the international launch date was delayed a month so that supplies could be replenished.
One of the first people to purchase the iPad in Sydney, Australia was Rahul Koduri who waited for over a day in line for the new mobile reader stating that it was well worth the wait.
In Japan, thousands more lined up at Apple stores and authorized sellers across the country.
In order to meet the demand, many UK Apple stores opened their doors an hour early so that fans such as Jake Lee, a self proclaimed ‘gadget love,’ could get their hands on the iPad as soon as it was available.
Lee, a 17 year old student said that he loved the atmosphere surrounding the launch.
In July the iPad will continue to go on sale in many more countries including Hong Kong, Belgium, Luxembourg, Ireland, Singapore, the Netherlands, Mexico, Austria, and New Zealand.
