The Desire handset by HTC likely will be released in an updated model come October according to many sources in the technology world.
The HTC Desire is often thought of as the closest competition that the Android has produced to the Apple iPhone, and while the new model will not have a better processor, it will have the newest version of the Android Operating System, 2.2, and a better camera capable of capturing at speeds of 8mp instead of 5mp.
The new HTC Desire also is said to be larger with a touchscreen that is 4.3” over the current model’s 3.7” screen. In addition, it will have HD video playback capabilities and a 720p capable of camera.
While the video mechanisms, known as the Ace, are said to be the largest design change, the new handset will also have a new design that is described as the offspring of breeding the Legend, Evo, and Desire which will result in a ‘unibody’ casing that is made out of simple aluminium.
Mobiles with the Google Android operating system are finally starting to get an edge over the iPhone with recent sales data from the United States suggesting that Android has now captured 27% of the market over Apples 23%.
