If we are quite honest, when you first look at the HP Deskjet 3070A it does not make a great impression, its styling is dull and grey and the grey-scale screen mounted on it makes it look very outdated.
The paper handling system of this multifunctional printer is also rather primitive. If you want to print on A4 paper then you will find the printed documents end up in the same tray as the blank paper. If you are trying to print something post card sized then you will have to feed the paper into a tricky location inside the device.
The new printer does however have a nice calibration feature. Traditionally, printers would print a test page and you would have to adjust the settings yourself. This DeskJet will print the page and then, using its built in scanner calibrate itself.
As with many modern printers it has wireless connectivity, meaning you can set the printer up anywhere in your home or office. It also has the facility to be able to receive documents by email and print them. This allows the user to print from anywhere in the world with an internet connection.
The print cartridges are relatively cheap at around £10 a packet. This gives means a page costs 3.6 pence to print, making it a good printer for people having to print a lot of black and white documents. The printer can spit out eight pages a minute and the text is crisp.
Add some colour into the document and printing slows down by half, to four pages a minute. The colours on the printer are good and the separate cartridges for the different ink colours can save on expenses. Printing photos gave good colours when printing on glossy paper, on regular there was evidence of slight banding.
