Ten years ago it was hard to live without several devices that we used to think were revolutionary, but now with the advent of even more technological wonders they have taken a back seat.
Before there was Wii from Nintendo and the iPhone there were tons of consumer electronics made our lives seem perfect and organized. Here are just a few of the most noticeable inventions of the last decade.
Before the iPhone music lovers all had to have an iPod which was the MP3 player of the future. Although MP3 players were already on the market by the time the iPod came out, the iPod took the Apple brand and its signature white ear buds and made it a cultural icon.
The iPod made it possible to leave behind the stack of CDs or CD organizers in place of something that could be placed in your pocket. It also helped transform music from something you had to buy in a store, to something you can buy with the click of your mouse.
The next revolutionary device was the GPS navigational systems for cars that allowed you to stop playing with the map that never folds up correctly and get quickly and easily to anywhere you wanted to go.
The revolution began in 2000 when GPS signals were made available for public use, and within just a few weeks companies such as Garmin flooded the marketplace with devices that could lead you anywhere your heart desired.
Finally, the last significant revolution was the Blackberry which quickly became one of the most popular Smartphones on the globe. The devices were first known for their business use but as the price dripped everyone wanted one to stay connected to the internet and so started the birth of the smartphone revolution.
