The release of both the Apple iPhone4 and the Motorola Milestone XT720 on the same day has allowed critics everywhere to compare the Android versus the best that Cupertino company can offer the public.
The truth is that the Milestone XT720 is marginally a slight upgrade from the current smartphone on the market. Thus, only a small fraction of users are likely to invest their money in an upgrade, however when it comes to comparing the iPhone 4G to its predecessor the difference is much clearer.
The Droid as it is has been affectionately nicknamed, first entered the market in November of 2009 and even though it has a new release, the improvements are hard to see without squinting between the lines. While it may have a better resolution and flash, these upgrades are hard pressed to be deemed significant enough to be major.
On the other hand, the iPhone4 has continued to push the envelope as Apple is known to do by offering four times the camera resolution, HD video recording and editing, and multi tasking tools. The deal sealer is the fact that these three features are only the top of the iceberg given that Apple has added about 100 new features to the popular Smartphone.
Therein lies the difference between Apple and other Smartphone creators, while other upgrades are deemed significant by their respective creators, Apple actually creates a truly significant upgrade. Without new features, the other two major smartphone creators that lie outside of the mobile world, Dell and Google Nexus One, will always find it hard to compete.
