Mobile Phones

Many phones nowadays come with inbuilt facilities, which enable buyers to connect to the internet, listen to the radio and send and receive emails. Sony launched the Walkman range of mobile phones to allow people to download and store a large quantity of music tracks and listen to music while they were out and about without having to have a separate MP3 player. Since the launch of the Walkman phone, many other manufacturers have joined in and radio and MP3 players are now an integral part of many different handsets.

In terms of connecting to the internet, the ease of staying in touch has never been greater. Pioneered by the BlackBerry, mobile phones with internet capabilities have changed the way people carry out their work and enabled them to work on the go. Internet phones enable people to chat with others online, check emails on the go, download files and access the internet from almost any location. The iPhone has been a massive hit and the brand new Samsung B7300 Omnia Lite looks set to be a popular handset, with an impressive combination of looks and brains; the Omnia Lite has inbuilt Windows technology and Wi-Fi capabilities, making it a perfect choice for professionals. Smart phones enable the phone to be directly connected to the home computer, meaning files can be uploaded and shared quickly and easily.

Entering that market too, the new HTC HD2 represents a Windows alternative to the previously near-ubiquitous presence of the iPhone. With a customisable icons and shortcuts, the HTC HD2 rivals the iPhone in its appeal to individuality, creating another area in which Microsoft and Apple can do battle.

The introduction of the HTC HD2 could prove troublesome for Blackberry, whose success has grown from its marketability in business circles; with Windows often at pains to show itself as the corporate big brother of the Apple Brand, Blackberry might have to up its game if it wants to cope with the introduction of the HTC HD2.

Another new addition, the latest Sony Ericsson Aino is the ultimate boy’s toy as it allows the buyer to control the Playstation 3 by means of using Remote Play via their mobile phone. The Aino also has an impressive 16 GB memory store and Bluetooth, 3G and GPS technology. The Aino can also be connected to the PC at home. The Aino also has an amazing 8-mega-pixel camera and a digital zoom; photos can be uploaded onto the PC and shared with others at the touch of a button.
