This week at John Lewis the top gadget is the Poach Perfect silicone egg poacher made by Eddingtons. In fact, the 2009 Gold Industry Award Gold winner is so sought after that John Lewis reports selling one about every 30 seconds.
It may be because the device is safe for use in the microwave, dishwasher, and freezer or maybe simply because it is a simple fun way to get a pouched egg in just a manner of seconds. For those that do not enjoy poached eggs, the simple mould can also be used for deserts making it multi-purpose.
Along with the news of the top selling egg poacher, John Lewis also announced that linens are also a must have item with sales of festive linens up by 51% over 2008’s figures and gadgets up 47%.
Nat Wakely, the director of selling operations at John Lewis, stated that with their online sales bypassing the £300m milestone this past Sunday and the company’s largest online Monday sale ever the company is sure that the coming week will set many online sale records.
