There is insufficient infrastructure capacity to cope with the demand (download speeds of less than 20 KB/sec seems to be the norm early evening, the service drops out on a regular basis, there are so many multiple copies of the same tracks you end up downloading more than is needed just to create an album.

Until the downlaod speeds are improved and they get a decent search interface this is not a site I could recommend, feels a bit like a waste of money at the moment. And all that hype

Most of my tracks download in less than 30 seconds but most of them are half that, don’t know if it depends on your internet connection or if the software is impacted by heavy users? I’m happy with the product but I agree the search interface definitely needs improving, I’ve emailed their support and got a quick response saying that this is scheduled for release in the next month or so. Hopefully an update will be available soon

I get quick replies from Datz as well, in fact every time they miss a deadline and I remind them they give me another. Everything is claimed to be fixed by end of March 2009, so only a week to wait. The number of artists has not changed since 23rd Feb 2009 so who knows if Datz is about to go under as their website claims numbers will increase weekly:
“The lounge will grow on a weekly basis with new
    artists and tracks.”

Offers much but is currently delivering very little. EMI and Beggars artists have disappeared, although still prominent in their advertising. The promised new albums, new artists and new labels have not arrived. And the website revamp due early 2009 is still not here and it’s July tomorrow! In my opinion, not something you should spend your money on at this time.
