
Macbook is a product of Apple Inc. It is a computer notebook that is available in different varieties under a single brand name Macintosh. MacBook has replaced the iBook G4 laptop series. The initial prototype of MacBook was released in the year 2006 and it uses the Core 2 dup processor manufactured by Intel. The chipset used in almost all the MacBook series is the 945GM chipset. The notebook has an integrated graphic set of GMA950 that has a speed of 667 MHz. MacBook has got a lot of revisions and it is one of the best notebooks.
The most updated version of MacBook is the fifth generation notebook that was released in February 25, 2008. The chipset used in this notebook is the GM965 and it has a graphics card of X3100 by Intel. The speed of the MacBook is 800 MHz.

MacBook has a widescreen with a 13.3” display. It has LCD features and has a resolution of 1280 x 800. The notebook also has an in built I Sight web camera. The ports for input and the output is using the mini DVi which is 10/100/1000 Ethernet with BASE T gigabit. The notebook has two ports for USB and it is Extreme 800.11 wireless. It also comes with a port for firewire 400 and it has the option for activating Bluetooth with a capacity of 2.0 + EDR. The sound quality of MacBook is great with two in built speakers that produce a stereo sound and also has an in built microphone that is omni directional.
The closing mechanism of the notebook is based on a magnetic latch that holds the two parts tight without opening up. It also has a track pad that can be used for scrolling. The hard disk of the MacBook is protected with the help of ‘Sudden motion Sensor’. The MacBook uses dual channel for its memory mode that helps the user to control the memory options and make alterations in it. The memory can be controlled when some extra RAM gets installed into the harddrive. With the help of a matching pair of modules for memory called the interleaved twin channel, a user can improve the performance of the computer even when its module are mismatching. MacBook also has a ‘trusted platform module’ chip.
Some of the basic functions of MacBook include; a time machine, mail, spaces, iChat, spaces, Address book, dashboard, QuickTime, iTunes, Photo booth, Xcode, Safari, DVD player, Front row, and iCal. MacBook also has a iLife 08 package that comprises of Iphoto, garage band, iMovie, iWeb, and also iDVD.
Appearance
The outer appearance of the MacBook model is slightly influenced by it predecessor, Apple iBook G4. The most famous model of the Apple Macbook is the black case model that is made by polycarbonate and thermoplastic. These materials are used for making a lot of Apple products.

The MacBook has a glossy display and has a lot of reflective properties. It has an increased colour saturation and also has anti glare utility in its display. Apple has used modern technology while designing its display features and provides a lot of comfort for the user.
