The water-powered rockets are fun and at the same very much educational for children of all ages. The kit would include a rocket, a controlled release mechanism, and an adjustable launch platform. These water rockets provide an excellent medium for learning various mathematical as well as physical concepts. These concepts would include momentum, applications for mass, and energy. It would also allow the teachers and students to investigate the effects of the variables that are to be altered. It can easily fly up to 100 feet. The best part is that it works only on air and water.

Water rocket is a model rocket that uses water for its functioning. The pressure vessel is mostly made up of plastic. The water is forced out of the pressurized gas that is typically compressed air. These water rocket engines are used for driving the model rockets. These flying water rockets are completely safe and are inexpensive too. They could be used by students for learning the basics of the forces and educating themselves with the response of the vehicle to external forces. A model rocket is subjected to four forces of the flight. There are many types of rockets; however the simplest one is the water rocket or the bottle rocket. Thus, the students can easily use this water rocket for educational purpose. The water rocket consists of two main parts that is the launcher and the rocket.

The launcher comes in a number of shapes and sizes too. It has a base for supporting the rocket while launching it. A launch tube is mounted perpendicularly to the base which is hollow and it is inserted into the base of the rocket prior to launching it. Then the tube is connected to the air pump with a hollow feeder line. Air is pressured inside the tube thrust. The pressure gauge would display a change in the pressure system. This system is similar if compared to the compressed air rocket. The second part is the rocket itself. Mostly, the rocket is made up of a soda pop bottle. The bottle is filled with some water before launching it. As water is heavier to air, the expelled amount of water produces more of thrust as compared to the compressed air. The base is a bit larger than the launch tube. The tube would become like a pressure vessel when the rocket is placed at the tube. The pressure of the body equals the pressure produced by the air pump. In order to provide stability during the flight, fins are added to it.

The flight of this water rocket is quite similar to that of the compressed air rocket. The mass of the bottle would vary as per the exhausting water plume during the flight. Using the RocketModeler, the water rocket can be easily studied. The water rockets have gained popularity in recent times. The water powered rocket would make an excellent gift for children, an educational as well as an amusing gift.
