The AT&T Palm Centro Smart Phone, which incidentally is the lightest and the smallest phone in the world (at least as of now), is all set to release in Europe by the end of the month of February. The Smart Phone is expected to hit the markets in the UK by 14th February.
The Smart Phone features EDGE/GPRS/GMS along with a class 10 radio. The radio has a quad band of 850/900/1800/1900MHZ. The Smart Phone has been designed for users who are always on the go. The phone has been designed to help people manage their life in the fast moving world.
The phone would be made available in Europe in the Black Onyx color. Though the price of the phone has not been revealed yet, the price is expected to be approximately £199 / €299 or about $ 399.
The phone has incorporated within it a compact and small full keyboard – so as to make text messaging and e-mail much easier. Authorities at Palm seemed very excited about the phone and said that the phone meets the need of better functionality, that the people are looking for today. Centro is well designed and has all the necessary features for organization and communication that are a must have in most normal phones.
Apart from this feature of the radio, there are several other vital features that have been incorporated in the Smart Phone. The color phone features a touch screen along with a complete keyboard. The phone weighs approximately 199 grams and this makes it the lightest phone in the world. The text messaging in the phone has been endowed with more of a cat style view.
The phone also provides for wireless access to e-mail accounts and also allows for web browsing abilities for the purpose of visiting some sites. The phone has also been incorporated with the Google Maps feature for the purpose of directions and maps. The Centro has been equipped with a 1.3 mega pixel camera. The digital camera is also equipped to capture videos. The Smart Phone is quite user friendly and has the Palm OS software. The Phone also plays Pocket Tunes along with other music. On the phone, one could also edit, create and view files that are compatible with the contemporary Excel and Word. Other than this, the phone provides for access to PDF and PowerPoint documents as well.
The phone features the Bluetooth 1.2 technology that allows one to connect wirelessly to car kits and headsets that are compatible with the technology. The phone has a memory of around 64 MB and comes with a 4 GB micro SD care. Besides, there are several additional softwares that can be added and which are available.
The phone can also be used as a modem for connecting to the internet on the laptop through the Bluetooth. Thus, the users of the phone can always be connected to the internet provided that they are in the coverage area.
